OTHER ACTIVITIES HAPPENING IN CHELAN DURING THIS WEEKEND
Enjoy the Wally Peterson Memorial Fly-In. This annual event is on Saturday, at the Chelan Airport from 8am to Dusk. Check out the displayed classics, antique aircrafts, warbirds, and the famous Miss Veedol. All types welcomed to fly-in and display. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8-11a.m. and a BBQ lunch starting at 11a.m.
Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan is inviting guests and public to celebrate their major renovation with a party on Saturday. The party begins at 1pm with wine tasting provided by thirteen of the wineries surrounding the lake and featuring international award winning wine expert, Amy Mumma. Other events planned for the day include beach volley ball, hula hoop and limbo contests. Tours will be available of some of the newly renovated rooms. Closing the day’s activities is a lakeside concert at 7p.m. featuring singer/songwriter, Vicci Martinez.
Friday from 6-9pm is the Historic Downtown Chelan's First Friday, "Celebrate Dad." First Friday is a special event held in Chelan's historic shopping district. Watch Artist in Action. Participating merchants offer discounts from 6-9pm. Merchants will have a gift for the first dads to visit their stores compliments of Chelan Red Apple.
Other First Friday Activities include: Meet Rotary members who will be getting ready for their Chelan Century Challenge bike ride fundraiser with Rotary roll and stroll. "Roll" could include strollers, roller skates, wheel chairs, bikes or just walking shoes-you name it. Meet at Bon Fire Grill at 6 pm and if you're ready for a bit more exercise, head up with Rotary members to Rotary Centennial Park, (weather permitting) see the results of a true community work project that took place throughout the month of April.
The Historical Museum will feature the Three Amigos. Lake Chelan Boat Club is raffling a quilt for EMS -set up in front of Swim World. Whaley's General Store features Pet Talks with Chelan Dog's Jon Luke-June 6th learn about different dog teats and how they can be used in reward training.
Lake Chelan Community Hospital Guild X will be raffling 2 baskets to be given away in October. See them in front of Chelan Realty. St. Francis Ladies Guild will be raffling Costco gift certificates.
Look for Soroptomists raising funds for scholarships as well as PEO with a bake sale @ Shirt Shop.
Meet members of the group "Touching Tiny Lives", Chelan to Africa. And meet members of the Chelan Valley Genealogy Society. Answer a trivia question on family history and win a prize, near Co. 107. Chelan Senior Center will have a little bit of mixes they are offering for sale (pancake/waffles), barbeque tickets, and registration forms for new Senior Center members, in front of Woven Threads.

The student artwalk will feature artists from Chelan High School at the following businesses: Company 107, Culinary Apple, The Vogue, Willow, Aston's, Sunburst Gallery, Spirals, Columbia Furniture, Main St Gallery, Whaley's, Swim World, 13 Designs, ShirtShop, Lake Chelan Sports, Kelly's, Fashion for Twelve and Riverwalk Books.
Campbell's will offer their free appetizer with the purchase of 2 dinner entrees. In addition, the gift shop will always offer 10% for locals.
The Vogue…a Liquid Lounge, will feature music from 8-10 pm, all ages welcome, no cover. Experience live music, enjoy a glass of wine and a "slice of community".
Sunburst Gallery will feature Mata Ortiz pottery from New Mexico and Theo Chocolates, the only organic and fair trade certified chocolates made in the US-small batch chocolates made in Seattle. Samples will be available.
Main St Gallery will feature Artists in Action with Lila Putnam, watercolor artist from Wenatchee. From 1-4 during the day, Lila will be offering an art class in Riverwalk Park at the Picnic Shelter.
